Paul Davies Retirement

Fairwood Fabrications is sad to announce that its longest serving employee is retiring after 30 years. Paul Davies joined the company when it began in 1981 alongside founder Theo Davies.

Paul started his career as an apprentice at Pontardawe Sheet Metal, upon finishing his apprenticeship Paul worked for various fabrication companies including BP Baglan Bay, Kenyons Ltd, Associated Pipework and Cramic Engineering Ltd.

When Paul joined Fairwood Fabrication nearly 30 years ago, he started out as a Welder and Fabricator, which he done for 6 years before moving on to become a Workshop Manager. As the business grew and labour increased, Pauls role grew to incorporate pricing work, procuring materials and increasing customer satisfaction. He was also responsible for overseeing projects such as onsite installations and workshop fabrication.

After 15 years as a Workshop Manager, Paul moved on to his latest role as an Estimator/Sales Engineer. This saw Paul move out of the workshop and into a more office based job, his responsibilities included sourcing, pricing and following jobs through to completion. In more recent years Paul’s role diversified further, giving him the opportunity to go out meeting customers and bringing in new business.

Paul lives in Swansea and has a large family of 3 married children, 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. He enjoys socialising and watching local live bands. His other interests include rugby, gardening and he has a great passion for fishing.
The Fairwood group want to take the opportunity to thank Paul for all of his hard work over the last 30 years and wish him health and happiness in his retirement.
