Steel

Fairwood Fabrications has been heavily involved in the Steel Industry for 30 years.

We have undertaken a wide variety of different work within this industry including repair and maintenance, fencing, steel erection, labour only contracts and managed maintenance contracts. In addition we have also undertaken numerous machining and pipework contracts within the industry.

This work has been undertaken in a variety of areas within steel plants including heavy processing, logistics, power generation and gas recovery, many of which offer excellent experience for other work outside the steel industry.

Other Industries

We have vast experience in a number of other industries including petrochemical, food and construction.

We have experience manufacturing and erecting steel buildings, conveyors for the steel industry, support bridges, walkways, hand railing, access ladders, staircases and bespoke one-off fabrications. Our dedicated pipework department has experience working to the pressure directives and in the installation of pipework for a variety of purposes.

Power Generation

Fairwood Fabrications has been involved in major Power Generation schemes in the area including the construction of the Gas Fired Power Station at the former BP Baglan Bay Site by GE and a recent retro-fitting project at the Aberthaw Power Plant.

Our ability to provide a complete service, including Precision Engineering, proved to be a great benefit to GE during the construction of the power station at Baglan Bay. Coupled with our 24hr callout service we were quickly recognised as an asset to the construction and were often commended on our performance.

The retro-fitting project at Aberthaw, where AMEC were the principal contractor, was a large scale pipe-work project providing discharge gas scrubbing to minimise the airborne pollution from the plant. The project was a complete success and we are proud to be associated with the work.
